The Finance Committee, in partnership with the Treasurer, acts as the chief monitor of all financial activities at Prince of Peace. The committee meets monthly to review our finances and to discuss relevant issues at the moment. Some of our key responsibilities include:

  • Authorization and timely payment of all invoices and expenses of operating the church.

  • Timely processing of biweekly payroll on behalf of our church staff.

  • Annual budget preparation.

  • Financial reporting monthly to church council.

  • Review of investments and financial holdings.

  • Review of policies governing the use of various funds held by Prince of Peace. 

  • Purchase and preparation of offering envelopes. 

  • Recording of offering receipts and preparation and distribution of annual statements.

  • In addition to the duties above, members of the committee are often involved in counting offering receipts on Sundays and preparing the receipts for bank deposit, picking up bank bags during the week, and signing checks as needed throughout the week.
