This is our jubilee year! We have been blessed to be joined with God to seek and serve Christ in all people for the past 50 years. The stewardship campaign this year is built around the theme of “50 years...from caterpillar to butterfly”. The logo for our 50th anniversary has four symbols that speak to how we are joined with God and what he has given us to do and wants us to continue today and into the future as His people.
Let’s look at the logo to the right. At the center is the cross of Christ. Encircling the cross we see how God nourishes us with the sacrament; how God enlightens us through his word; how God gives us new life as we continue to grow in relationship to him and others and then how God send us out to share love with our hearts and hands. This is our legacy of blessing at Prince of Peace. All that God gives us and in turn year after year we break through the boundaries to give to others our gifts of time, talent and financial resources.
Our campaign will be held over four weeks beginning on January 16th. Each week Pastor will take one of the symbols in the logo and share a sermon that will help us to see and feel how Jesus chooses to be with us in all we do, in all we say, in all we are and in all we give. Below is a devotion for each week written by Pastor Joe for reflection and a special poem written by Traci Rumsey for inspiration and contemplation.
We are thankful for your commitment through the years to actively seek and serve Christ through the ministry of Prince of Peace. You will be asked at the end of the campaign to increase your financial support by a specific amount and how to calculate that. Please pray during the campaign for discernment on how God wants you to respond to what he has given you and how you will give to keep His mission going for another 50 years.
In faithful service,
The Stewardship Committee

As you can see, on the screen behind Pastor is the image of wine and bread, in the top left of our logo. It’s one of the things God has given us. One of the good gifts God has shared with us, that we are to share with others.
Now, this image is pretty easy to understand, right? It’s about communion. Of course! But that’s not all it’s about. There’s more. Click below to read Pastor’s sermon from January 16th.
These two photos were taken in the narthex this week. They help us to remember our life together as a community - the life that God has given to us to enjoy - and to share with the world around us.
Watch for a new bulletin board each week!
Today, the second week of the campaign, we’re looking at the quadrant on the bottom left.
This image is one of the good gifts God has shared with us, that we are to share with others. This image is of a book, specifically the Bible, the collection of writings that Christians view as holy scripture.

These words below are from an inspired poem written by Traci Rumsey especially for the campaign:
And soon we became enlightened,
to the words that became alive in us.
As the Chrysalis soon brightened,
we began to hear His promises that we would trust.
Watch for a new bulletin board each week!
Today, the third week of the campaign, we’re looking at the quadrant on the top right. This image is a of a butterfly taking flight with hope to the new life Christ is promising us, our community and our world.

This picture shows the bulletin board for week 3. Looking back over fifty years, we have seen new life sprout and grow and flourish here. We have seen the caterpillar become a butterfly. Good news! We’re not done. As you look to the bulletin board, the butterfly wings are unfolding. Let’s find out where they take us.
These words below are from an inspired poem written by Traci Rumsey especially for the campaign.
The parishioners soon would gather,
as the butterfly would take to flight.
The love of this was a transformation rather,
that all of us would see His light.
This is the fourth and last week of the campaign. We’re looking at the quadrant on the bottom right.
This image is a heart in an open palm. When we give by opening our hand to give, our love goes out to the community and the world. As our heart leaves, the open space in our palm is filled with God’s blessing. We have come full circle around the cross of Christ. Take notice how each symbol goes beyond the center circle, to symbolize how we do not keep it for ourselves, but we are joined with God to seek and serve all people.
Click below to read pastor’s sermon from February 6th that causes us to wonder about how things could be different if we think of our good gifts. Could this unleash another new moment when we ask God the use us to catch people with our love?
Take a look at this video to see the bulletin board for week 4.
These words below are from an inspired poem written by Traci Rumsey especially for this campaign. We have grown so much, but there is much more room for us to continue growing!
A new church had brought hope and life,
this was truly an inspiration.
There would be positivity and no strife,
but a growing congregation.
