Dear People of the Cross,
We have just closed out our 50th year as a congregation to actively seek and serve Christ through the ministry of Prince of Peace. We hope you had the opportunity to join in the celebration and participate in the many ways God calls us to be stewards of what he has blessed us with as a congregation. Our legacy as Prince of Peace means you are part of a special group of people…we are “people of the cross”. You are part of God’s “Remnant People”, those serving and loving God through our mission and ministry together. This is all possible because of God’s great mercy.
Our theme this year for the stewardship campaign is “Because of God’s Great Mercy.” Please be part of worship, on-site, on-line or by phone to hear about beautiful colored illustrations from the Saint John’s Bible during the sermons that Pastor will give. Over 4 weeks, beginning January 15th, you can hear and feel how God has called you through spiritual gifts, has refreshed you through His power, reminds you that you have been given a calling and renews you with the Holy Spirit. On the last Sunday of the campaign, you will have the opportunity to Reaffirm your Baptism, your most sacred covenant with God.
Each week there will also be a special feature to help you think about how you can be the steward God wants you to be. Weekly Devotionals by Pastor Joseph Scholtes and a poem written by Traci Rumsey will give you “food for thought”. Come along with your family at Prince of Peace to live out your baptism as a church in the world who is committed to seek and serve all people through your generous support. This year we are asking you to prayerfully consider a ½ of 1% increase or more of your household income and consider using our online giving option for a convenient way to be consistent in your commitment. You will receive more information on how to calculate your increase and submit your commitment.
We look forward to the future on the foundation that our 50 years together has built. Please join us to keep accomplishing the work God has set before you!
Seeking and serving all,
The Stewardship Committee
