Greetings in the Lord. We write you today with excitement about the future of our congregation, and with a message of how you can help with that future. We hope that you can take the time to read this letter and prayerfully consider your participation.
Our Stewardship Campaign this year is entitled “You Have Heard it Said”. You may be asking what have we heard? Our campaign is designed to help us, as people of faith unpack some of what you have heard about money (and generosity), reflect on how God might be calling us to use all our money, not just the portion we give away, and discern how we might live out our faith with our financial generosity.
In this packet of information, you will find several pieces for your use during the campaign.
1. Narrative of Support Statement
2. Weekly devotions written by Rev. Joseph Scholtes
3. Poem written by Tracy Rumsey
4. An at home activity to use with your family or someone else in the congregation
Our campaign will begin on January 14th and run for 4 weeks. Below are the themes for each week that Pastor will share a sermon on, and we will hear a few testimonials/faith stories also. These are all things we may “have heard it said,” but which might not be true the way we think!
Week 1-“Financial Success is a sign of God’s Blessing”
Week 2- “It’s your money”
Week 3- “Those who are faithful with what they’ve been given will be given more”
Week4- “God Helps those who help themselves”
Week 4 is also Commitment Sunday when we are asking all members of the congregation to consider the possibility of growing their financial giving. You will receive another mailing in a few weeks to let you know more about this important day and answer the question, Why Continue To Grow.
In Christ,
Prince of Peace Stewardship Committee and Congregation Council
